What we do to create your personalized quote:
- Create a profile for your in our database
- Complete initial research (find and review existing records of survey, parcel maps, tract maps, centerline monuments, corner records, improvements, etc.) on the work site and the surrounding area
- Confirm deliverables meet your project needs (if you have a design team – let us know and we will connect with them to review overall project needs)
- Create a work schedule for your project
phase I
Work Contract & Retainer Fee
You will receive a quote within 14 business days after accepting your work quote.
Welcome to the Drones Edge family!
Why the Work Contract is separate from the Work Quote:
- According to the Professional Land Surveyors’ Act (article 5, section 8759), “land surveying shall use a written contract when contracting to provide professional services to a client”.
- Once the work contract is signed and your retainer fee is received, that is our confirmation you would like us to proceed with the work schedule
- Begin calculations from initial research documents
- Begin base mapping for field work phase
- Schedule field work with field crew
phase II
Field Work (weather permitting)
Our field crew will complete the necessary field work for your project within 45 business days of signing your Work Contract and receipt of Retainer Fee.
What our field crew accomplishes:
- Complete an initial Site Recon – ESSENTIAL to getting established at the work location. This is the foundation needed to ensure accuracy of future data points.
- Physically locate, identify, and document all existing evidence that was noted in initial research documents
- Communicate any challenges or extenuating circumstances related to the project to our licensed land surveyor
- Ensure appropriate number of data points and location information are collected and transmitted to our licensed land surveyor
phase III
Survey Mapping
Once our field crew submits all field data, it is processed in the office and your map or recordable document is completed within 75 business days. For more complex projects that include but not limited to a Record of Survey, Parcel Maps and Tract Maps, the survey mapping phase is significantly longer and are reviewed in the work contract.
Where data points become a visual representation!
What happens during mapping:
- Manual review and processing of all field data points
- Creation of a project’s final deliverables
- Licensed land surveyor ensures accuracy of findings are within industry accepted tolerance
phase IV
Final Deliverables & Balance Due
Once your deliverables are done, we email you a PDF version of your documents.
What is submitted and to whom:
- A balance due invoice will be sent to the client once the final deliverable is complete and ready for submission and/or distribution to the client.
- Clients will receive a PDF version of the final deliverable
- If working directly with a design team, final deliverables will be delivered in the requested format
- If a final deliverable requires submission to the county surveyor for review, checking, and approval, our licensed land surveyor submits this on behalf of the client.
- Certain submissions to the county surveyor’s office require additional checking fees and are reviewed in the work contract.
